Showing off my #DisneySide

Recently I received an email stating that I was chosen to be a #DisneySide hostess. Well let me tell you that was the thrill of my day. Anxiously I stalked the message boards for word of shipping dates. And of course when the dates were released a freak cold hit the country. It seemed everyone was having delivery issues. Not me I thought. I live in good ole south Louisiana! HAHA! We were part of that storm. We had snaux! (snow) Not like what everyone else had but a shock to our system. Luckily my package was only delayed two days. And then…..IT ARRIVED! I was so EXCITED! What ever could I get????

I tore into the box….only restraining myself to take a picture of the outside. I peeked inside and Ooooooohhhh!

SOOOO MANY GOODIES!

Well now I have to plan my party! Mardi Gras vacation seemed like the perfect time. It happens to be a week when a lot of people from the New Orleans area happen to travel to Disney anyway. So this was a perfect week for those of us that weren’t going this year. I invited some of my mommy friends and their kids and got to setting up.

My youngest was so excited not only to have her friends over but to dig into the goodies.

The kiddos had a blast. It had rained the day before so we were stuck inside but the kids still had fun. I think the T-shirts were the HIT of the crowd.

They even enjoyed a bit of coloring some Frozen coloring sheets I found online.

MIA

If you’ve been wondering where I haveĀ been its complicated. First we moved. AGAIN! But this time not into a rental but rather into our new home. Then we had to get internet. And that was a job all in itself. It took THREE weeks to get it done. There was so much miscommunication. FINALLY I went in there and explained I wanted to speak to the owner’s wife. That got results. Had them out here the same day. But they couldn’t get into the neighbor’s yard due to their dog. Are you FREAKIN kidding me? So got them out the next day (yesterday) and got it all taken care of. I now have internet AND cable. And due to all of the mistakes I know have a year of all movie channels for FREE. Sweet!

So now I am back. And looking to get back into regular postings. I am working on a WFM Wednesday post and of course coupon previews. I also hope to work on posts on decorating and organizing my new home. Anything else you would like to see? Drop me a line.

Untill then…..take care!

Sum sum Summertime

Well I hope you all had a great weekend! For Fathers Day we took the kids to the pool and then to McDonalds. Yep….living the life people…..don’t hate. After we just hung around the house. Big fun!

Now that we are somewhat settled in our temporary home I am planning on getting back to the gym. I got a new schedule and marked off water aerobics and the dance type classes. I also joined a weight loss group with my church. I think the competition will do me good. I like competition. Actually I like winning but I am not supposed to say that. (But I like winning….shhh)

I need to get things back on track. I need to menu plan again. Little different this time as I will be trying to use up my stockpile. After moving it once I want to move less this time…lol. I also need to get back on cleaning schedule and get things purged. We should be moving right before school starts and I want to be on track. Both girls will be in school this year and Becca has been promoted to the advanced karate class and Carson wants to do both dance and cheer leading next year. And she wants me to be cheer mom. So getting organized this summer is a must if I want to add all that to my plate.

What about you? How do you spend your summers?

I Won!

So I got an awesome text message yesterday. I found out I won a $20 gift card to Chili’s. How awesome! My friend Maria gave one away on her blog. Out of 165 comments mine was picked. (Insert happy dance)

If you are looking for a great blog to read (other than this one) be sure & follow Maria’s blog

This week

This week I plan on being busy as next week is a school holiday.

Today I plan on volunteering at my youngest’s school. We are making shirts for their Mardi Gras parade on Friday. They will be the Krewe of Polka Dots. I think the kids will have a lot of fun with it. Tuesday I have some major shopping to do as there are quite a few deals out there. I spent some time yesterday planning these out. Wednesday & Thursday I hope to get some freezer cooking done & Thursday afternoon we have girl scouts & our cookies should be in. Friday morning is B’s parade then this weekend I have to take C to a slumber party, B to a gymnastics party & fit in girl scout cookie booths at some point.

Interested to see how much actually gets accomplished. One can dream right?

Resolutions

As December winds down and Christmas draws to a close I like most of you I am sure find myself thinking of how to make next year better than the one that is ending. 2010 was an interesting year to say the least. I watched my children become a year older, my oldest went from elementary into junior high school, my baby not only started school but thrives there, and my husband became temporarily (thank God) unemployed. He is back to work now which is good but timing as always has a way of biting me in the rear & he will miss Christmas again this year. I have done good on some of my goals. We have whittled down our debt by paying off 2 credit cards & paying down another. But this still seems to be taking a toll so we have decided to make bigger changes. We stopped paying Child support in April so now we have some extra room in the budget to start snowballing things. We’ve also decided to give up tv beginning in January. Next will be our landline in Feb & reducing our cell phones in Feb too. I also have my van up for sale and if all that goes as planned we can put close to $700 more a month to our debt. I know the mortgages won’t get paid off sooner but I am not concerned with those. I just really want to pay the credit cards off completely.
Also, I’m coming up with a new business venture which may allow me to keep the van & to have it pay for itself. In the new year I will be a personal grocery shopper. I even have my first client lined up. I think this will be a great idea. I am really excited. I think there are people who will pay a reasonable fee to have someone do their grocery shopping for them.
I don’t really have any resolutions….I am not saying I am resolved to be/do this that or the other but I do have goals which I will be writing up for another post & I will be printing them & posting them in my home to help hold myself accountable. I look forward to announcing wheneve a step has been accomplished towards my goals.

Do you have goals or resolutions for 2011?
